Test C: No Communication With Rap Module

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Inspect fuse No. 20 (7.5-amp) in instrument panel fuse box. Inspect fuse No. 9 (20-amp) in power distribution box. If both fuses are okay, go to next step. If fuse No. 9 is blown, repair short to ground in White/Light Blue wire between power distribution box and Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module. If fuse No. 20 is blown, repair short to ground in Black/Pink wire between instrument panel fuse box and RAP module.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect RAP module harness connector T-409. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 12 (White/Light Blue wire) at RAP module harness connector T-409. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in White/Light Blue wire between power distribution box and RAP module.
  3. Disconnect RAP module harness connector T-410. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 25 (Red/Yellow wire) at RAP module harness connector T-410. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Yellow wire between instrument panel fuse box and RAP module.
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 14 (Black wire) at RAP module harness connector T-409. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair module communication concern. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between RAP module and ground.
