Airflow Mode Actuator Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mazda 626. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- The airflow mode actuator is operated by signals from the climate control unit, and opens and closes the airflow mode doors.
- The airflow mode actuator has a built-in sliding contact that is linked to the motor.
System wiring diagram
Operation
- The CPU of the climate control unit sends an airflow mode signal based on the input signal from the switch and turns the transistor on.
- Because the circuit is grounded, the CPU detects Voltage as 0 V.
- The CPU rotates the motor of the airflow mode actuator in the direction of DEFROSTER if detected on the DEFROSTER side, the motor is rotated in the direction of VENT if detected on the VENT side.
- When the motor has rotated to the target position, the sliding contact goes off.
- The motor is stopped so that the CPU may detect constant voltage (Vc).
