What To Do If All Keys Are Lost (using NGS Tester ver 9.0)

  • This procedure is used when all keys have been lost.
NOTE:
  • This procedure requires at least two PATS keys with correct key cut.
  1. Using the NGS Tester (9.0 version card) connected to the OBD II connector (DLC II) and the new (unprogrammed) key in the ignition switch in the ON position.
  2. With WDS or equivalent, select:
    1. Diagnostic Data Link (press Trigger).
    2. PCM - Powertrain Control Module (press Trigger).
    3. Function Tests (press Trigger).
    4. Enter Security Access (press Trigger). There will be a 10 minute delay to access the next step.

      Screen displays "Process has been completed" (press Trigger).

  3. Screen displays the following:
    • IGN KEY CODE PROGRAM
    • IGN KEY CODE ERASE
    • SPARE KEY SWITCH ENABLE
    • SPARE KEY SWITCH DISABLE
  4. Select "IGN KEY CODE ERASE" (press Trigger). Screen displays "Process has been completed" (press Trigger).
  5. Now select "Ignition Key Code Program". Press Trigger. Press Trigger.
  6. Now select "Ignition Key Code Program". Press Trigger. Press Trigger again.
    • If you are ONLY programming two keys  - turn key OFF. Disconnect NGS and remove second key from ignition. Follow step seven.
    • If you are programming more than two keys  - continue sequence described in steps five and six until last key is programmed. Then follow step seven.
  7. Now turn second key ON (security light should light steadily and go off in three seconds) and start vehicle. Remove second key.
  8. Now insert first key into ignition, turn ON (security light should light steadily and go off in three seconds) and start vehicle. First key is now programmed.
  9. You now have two programmed keys.
