Front Buckle Removal/Installation
WARNING:
- Handling the front buckle (pre-tensioner front buckle) improperly can accidentally deploy the pre-tensioner, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the front buckle. (See SERVICE WARNINGS .) (See SERVICE CAUTIONS .)
- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.
- Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Detach the tab as shown in the figure and remove the connector from the front seat connector.
- Remove in the order indicated in the figure.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s
and then goes out when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
- If the air bag system warning light does not operate, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system.
