Panic Feature Is Inoperative/Does Not Operate Correctly

SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - PANIC FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

PINPOINT TEST 6		PANIC FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK THE LAST TIC RECEIVED Enter smart junction box (SJB), FUNCTION TESTS, remote transmitter TIC/DATA through the diagnostic tool menus. Press and release the PANIC button on both keyless entry remote transmitters. Does the word PANIC appear after pressing the panic buttons on both transmitters?	Yes	If only the parking lights do not operate correctly with the remote transmitters, Go to step 2. If only the horn does not operate correctly with the remote transmitters, Go to step 4.
1		No	REPROGRAM the keyless entry remote transmitter(s). See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING . After reprogramming, if the concern still exists, new keyless entry remote transmitter(s) are necessary. PROGRAM the new transmitter(s). INFORM the customer any transmitters not present will need to be reprogrammed.
2	CHECK THE PARKING LAMP OPERATION Turn the parking lamps on at the headlamp switch. Do the parking lamps operate correctly?	Yes	Go to step 4.
2		No	See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - PARK/REAR/LICENSE LAMP .
3	CHECK THE HORN OPERATION Press the horn switch. Does the horn operate correctly?	Yes	Go to step 4.
3		No	DIAGNOSE the horn. See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - HORN .
4	CHECK THE SJB FOR CORRECT OPERATION Disconnect all SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Install a new SJB. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
4		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
