Axle Speed Sensor Rotor, Rear Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Remove the differential from the rear axle; see DIFFERENTIAL CASE REAR (STANDARD AND LIMITED SLIP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the 10 bolts retaining the ring gear to the differential case.
  3. Remove the ring gear.
    NOTE:
    • Only remove speed sensor rotor if replacement is required. It does not have to be removed for ring bearing replacement.
  4. Remove the speed sensor rotor by tapping with a soft-face hammer. Discard the speed sensor rotor.
    NOTE:
    • The rotor must be discarded upon removal. If removed, a new speed sensor rotor must be installed.

  5. Install in reverse order of removal.
