DTC P0096 DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

Boost air temperature sensor circuit range/performance problem |
| DETECTION CONDITION |
- If the intake air temperature is higher than the engine coolant temperature by 23°C {41.4°F}
for 1.2 s
with the ignition switch turn to the ON position*, the PCM determines that there is a boost air temperature sensor circuit range/performance problem.
*: Ignition switch on when 6 h or more has passed since the ignition switch was turned off Diagnostic support note
- This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
- The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
- PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
- FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
- DTCs are stored in the PCM memory.
