CAUTION:

Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.

RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM) DOES NOT RESPOND TO DIAGNOSTIC TOOL PINPOINT TEST REFERENCE

PIN POINT TEST 2		RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM) DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL
STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK THE RCM 0810-101 FOR DAMAGE Key OFF. Deactivate the air bag system. See SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION . Disconnect: RCM 0810-101. Inspect the RCM 0810-101 for damage. Is the RCM 0810-101 OK?	Yes	Go to next step.
1		No	Repair the RCM 0810-101. CONNECT the RCM 0810-101. Activate the air bag system. See SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION . Carry out the WDS or equivalent tester data link test.
20	CHECK THE ISO 9141 CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE DLC AND THE RCM FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the RCM 0810-101 pin 5, circuit (LB/W), harness side and the DLC D-01 pin 7, circuit (LB/W), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?	Yes	Go to next step.
20		No	Repair circuit (LB/W) for an open. Connect the RCM 0810-101. ACTIVATE the air bag system. See SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION . Carry out the WDS or equivalent tester data link test.
3	CHECK FOR CORRECT RCM OPERATION Disconnect all the RCM connectors. Check for: corrosion push-out pins Connect all the RCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Activate the air bag system. See SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION . Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Install a new RCM. See RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) . Carry out the WDS or equivalent tester data link test.
3		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Repeat the self-test. Carry out the WDS or equivalent tester data link test.
