Possible Causes

DTC B1405, DTC B1408 OR DTC B1410 - DRIVER POWER WINDOW SWITCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY OR DRIVER POWER WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT FAILURE - PINPOINT TEST REFERENCE

PINPOINT TEST 7 DTC B1405, DTC B1408 OR DTC B1410 - DRIVER POWER WINDOW SWITCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY OR DRIVER POWER WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT FAILURE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) DTCs
  • Key in ON position.
  • Check the SJB for DTCs.
  • Is DTC B1410 present? 
 Yes Go to next step.
No Go to step 4.
2 CHECK CIRCUIT (BR/L) AND (L/GY) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: SJB J-2280c and SJB J-2280d.
  • Disconnect: Driver window motor 0912-204.
  • Measure the resistance between ground and driver window motor:
    • 0912-204 pin 2, circuit (BR/L).
    • 0912-204 pin 1, circuit (L/GY).
  • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms? 
 Yes Go to next step.
No Repair circuit (BR/L) or (L/GY) for a short to ground. Test the system for normal operation.
3 CHECK CIRCUIT (BR/L) AND (L/GY) FOR AN OPEN
  • Measure the resistance between driver window motor:
    • 0912-204 pin 1, circuit (L/GY) and SJB J-2280d pin 16, circuit (L/GY).
    • 0912-204 pin 2, circuit (BR/L) and SJB J-2280c pin 17, circuit (BR/L).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) , . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair circuit (BR/L) or (L/GY) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
4 CHECK CIRCUIT (Y/V) AND (L/GY) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: SJB J-2280c and SJB J-2280d.
  • Disconnect: Driver power window switch 0912-201.
  • Key in ON position.
  • Measure the voltage between ground and driver window control switch:
    • 0912-201 pin 1, circuit (Y/V).
    • 0912-201 pin 4, circuit (L/GY).
  • Is voltage present? 
 Yes Install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) , . Test the system for normal operation.
No Repair circuit (Y/V) or (L/GY) for a short to voltage. Test the system for normal operation.
