PINPOINT TEST 6		THE PANIC FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK THE LAST TRANSMITTER IDENTIFICATION CODE (TIC) RECEIVED Key in OFF position. Connect the IDS or equivalent tester. Key in ON position. Enter the following diagnostic mode on the IDS or equivalent tester: SJB function tests, Transmitter test, or Program transmitter. Monitor the RKE transmitter TIC/DATA through the IDS or equivalent tester menus. Press and release the PANIC button on both RKE transmitters. Does the word PANIC appear after pressing the PANIC buttons on both RKE transmitters?	Yes	If only the parking lamps do not operate correctly with the RKE transmitters, Go to next step. If only the horn does not operate correctly with the RKE transmitters, go to step 3. If the horn and the parking lamps do not operate correctly with the RKE transmitters, go to step 4.
1		No	PROGRAM all of the RKE transmitters. see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING . After programming, if the concern still exists, a new RKE transmitter is necessary. Program all of the RKE transmitters. Inform the customer any RKE transmitters not present need to be programmed.
2	CHECK THE PARKING LAMP OPERATION Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position. Do the parking lamps operate correctly?	Yes	Go to step 4.
2		No	Diagnose the inoperative parking lamps. See PARKING, REAR AND LICENSE PLATE LAMPS , .
3	CHECK THE HORN OPERATION Press the horn switch. Does the horn operate correctly?	Yes	Go to next step.
3		No	Diagnose the inoperative horn. See PINPOINT TEST 1: THE HORN IS INOPERATIVE , .
4	CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all the SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion damaged pins pushed-out pins Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) , . Program all the RKE transmitters. see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING . Inform the customer that any RKE transmitters not present need to be programmed. Clear the DTCs. Repeat the self-test.
4		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Clear the DTCs. Repeat the self-test.
