Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Removal/Installation
WARNING:
- A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the charge air cooler duct. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 WITH TC] ).
- Remove the air cleaner and air hose. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Drain the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS ).
- Disconnect the wiring harness.
- Remove the ECT sensor.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque
10-14 N.m {102-142 kgf.cm, 89-123 in.lbf}
- Refill the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS ).
