Normal Operation: Notes

Under normal operation, voltage is supplied to the delayed accessory relay coil and switch internally through the smart junction box (SJB). Ground for the accessory delay relay is provided internally through the SJB. When the relay is energized, voltage is sent to the power window switches through circuit (GY/Y) or (V/W).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following: 

DELAYED ACCESSORY RELAY - PINPOINT TEST 5

PINPOINT TEST 5 THE DELAYED ACCESSORY DOES NOT TURN OFF
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK THE DELAYED ACCESSORY RELAY
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Delayed Accessory Relay.
  • Operated the power windows.
  • Do the power windows operate? 
Yes REPAIR circuit (G/Y) or (V/W) for a short to voltage. TEST the system for normal operation.
No CARRY OUT the delayed accessory relay component test. SEE table at the end of this pinpoint test. If the relay tests OK, INSTALL a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . TEST the system for normal operation.
