Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Removal/Installation [L5]

WARNING:
  • When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
CAUTION:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [L5] .)
  3. Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .)
  4. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
  5. Remove the ECT sensor.

    With clip

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Refill the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [L5] .)
