Abs/TCS HU/Cm Removal/Installation: Notes

CAUTION:
  • When replacing the ABS/TCS HU/CM, the configuration procedure must be done before removing the ABS/TCS HU/CM. If the configuration is not completed before removing the ABS/TCS HU/CM, ABS/TCS will not work properly after installation of the ABS/TCS HU/CM.
  • The internal parts of the ABS/TCS HU/CM could be damaged if dropped. Be careful not to drop the ABS/TCS HU/CM. Replace the ABS/TCS HU/CM if it is subjected to an impact.
  1. Remove the following parts:
    1. Windshield wiper arm and blade. See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
    2. Cowl grille. See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
    3. Windshield wiper motor. See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
    4. Cowl panel. See COWL PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
  2. For the vehicles with MZI-3.7, remove the power steering reserve tank component. See POWER STEERING OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
  3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  5. Add brake fluid, bleed the brakes, and inspect for leakage after the installation has been completed. See AIR BLEEDING .
  6. Configurate the ABS/TCS HU/CM (only when replacing it). See ABS/TCS HU/CM CONFIGURATION .
  7. Clear the DTCs from the memory. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [ABS/TCS] .
