Body Control Module (BCM) Removal/Installation

CAUTION:
  • When replacing the BCM, always perform the configuration procedure before removing the BCM. Replacing the BCM without performing the configuration procedure will result in a system malfunction.
  1. When replacing the BCM, perform the configuration. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the following parts:
    1. Dashboard under cover (passenger's side) (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Center console box (See CENTER CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Console panel (See CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Center console (See CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G66M-R] .)
    8. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Side panel (See SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Front scuff plate (passenger's side) (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. Front side trim (passenger's side) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    14. Lower panel (passenger's side) (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the connector shown below.

  5. Remove the wiring harness clip and connector clip shown below.

  6. Remove the wiring harness clip shown below.

  7. Remove the wiring harness clip shown below.

  8. Disconnect the connectors shown below.

  9. Remove the nuts as shown.

  10. Remove the BCM.
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  12. Perform steering angle sensor initialization. (See STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
