Rear Abs Wheel-Speed Sensor Removal/Installation (AWD): Notes

Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
Release the electric parking brake.
Switch the ignition off.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (Refer to NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the following parts:
1. Trunk covering (Refer to TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Trunk board (Refer to TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Trunk side pocket (Refer to TRUNK SIDE POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Trunk end trim (Refer to TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Rear scuff plate (Refer to REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Third-row seat cushion (Refer to THIRD-ROW SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. Third-row seat back component (Refer to THIRD-ROW SEAT BACK COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
8. Trunk side trim (Refer to TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor connector and remove the clip.

Press the grommet tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure and detach them from the vehicle body.

Press the grommet in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and press out the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor toward the outside of the vehicle.
Remove the wheel and tire. (Refer to WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove in the order indicated in the table.
Install in the reverse order of removal.

After installation, verify that there is no twisting in the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor.
