Determining Open Circuit Location (Ms-Can): Notes

CAUTION:
  • First perform the following malfunction diagnosis according to the FOREWORD [MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM] TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE .
  • If the malfunctioning part is detected in the communication line, before disconnecting the related connector for inspection, press the connector in the connection direction to verify that there is no looseness or disconnection.
  • When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no damage, deformation, or corrosion of the connector terminals.
  1. Verify DTCs of the modules related to the CAN system.
  2. Refer to DTC output pattern and malfunctioning location for the following and select the link for the malfunctioning location.
    • Communication error DTCs
    • Malfunctioning module
      NOTE:
      • A "-" in the DTC output pattern cell indicates that the DTC may or may not be displayed depending on the malfunction detection conditions.
  3. Refer to the matching tandem diagnostic results (A to F) and inspect the possible cause and inspection item.
  4. Perform the DTC inspection after the repair procedure.
    • If any DTC is displayed, return to FOREWORD [MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM].
