DTC B1D9C-23: Rear Roof Link Motor (RH) Pulse Input Circuit Malfunction [Retractable Hardtop Control Module]: Notes

DTC B1D9C:23 (RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Description Rear roof link motor (RH) pulse input circuit malfunction
Detection condition
  • The retractable hardtop control module cannot detect a pulse signal from the rear roof link motor (RH) when the rear roof link motor operation starts.
Fail-safe
  • Stops retractable hardtop operation
Possible cause
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4Q and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal F
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4O and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal D
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4Q and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal F
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4R and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal B
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4Q and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal F
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4R and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal B
    • Retractable hardtop control module terminal 4O and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal D
  • Line-to-line short circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Rear roof link motor (RH) terminal F and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal D
    • Rear roof link motor (RH) terminal F and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal B
    • Rear roof link motor (RH) terminal D and rear roof link motor (RH) terminal B
  • Rear roof link motor (RH) malfunction
  • Retractable hardtop control module malfunction
