PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
Display PCM PIDs [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_COMD] and [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_ACT] using the MMDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .)
When the engine is started after switching the ignition ON (engine off), verify that the PID [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_ACT] value conforms to the PID [ENG_COOL_VLV_POS_COMD] value.

If not as verified, replace the coolant control valve (See COOLANT CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
