DTC P151B:00 (PCM, VINs 7, L, M, US) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION Record the freeze frame data/snapshot data. NOTE: Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC.	-	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION OR SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY Verify related Service Bulletins, online repair information, or Service Information availability. Is any related Information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available information. If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT FOR OTHER RELATED DTCs Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (VINs 7, L, M) (US)] .)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT A/C MAGNETIC CLUTCH OPERATION Turn the A/C switch off. Is the magnetic clutch still on?	Yes	Perform the symptom troubleshooting "A/C IS ALWAYS ON OR A/C COMPRESSOR RUNS CONTINUOUSLY". (See A/C IS ALWAYS ON OR A/C COMPRESSOR RUNS CONTINUOUSLY [VINs 7, L, M] .)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT DRIVE-BY-WIRE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION Perform the Drive-by-wire Control System Inspection. (See ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION [(VINs 7, L, M)] .) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT PURGE SOLENOID VALVE Perform the Purge Control System Inspection. (See PURGE SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION [(VIN M) (US)] .) (See PURGE SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION [(VIN 7 & VIN L) (US)] .) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification. (See PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN M) (US)] .) (See PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN 7 & VIN L) (US)] .)
6		No	Go to the next step.
7	INSPECT AIR CLEANER ELEMENT FOR MALFUNCTION Remove the air cleaner element with the engine is running. (See AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN M) (US)] .) (See AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN 7 & VIN L) (US)] .) Does the engine speed increase?	Yes	Clean or replace the air cleaner element and perform the repair completion verification. (See AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN M) (US)] .) (See AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN 7 & VIN L) (US)] .)
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	INSPECT THROTTLE BODY PASSAGE Visually inspect the throttle body passage. Is the throttle body passage dirty and/or restricted?	Yes	Clean or replace the throttle body passage and perform the repair completion verification. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN M) (US)] .) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN 7 & VIN L) (US)] .)
8		No	Go to the next step.
9	INSPECT ENGINE COMPRESSION Inspect the engine compression. (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION [(VIN M) (US)] .) (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION [(VIN 7 & VIN L) (US)] .) Are compression pressures within specification?	Yes	Go to the next step.
9		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
10	INSPECT GENERATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY Apply the electrical load (such as blower fan, rear window defogger, or headlight). Does the engine speed increase?	Yes	Go to the next step.
10		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(VIN M) (US)] .) Repair completion verification 1		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
Repair completion verification 2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
