DTC B00A0:81/B00A0:87 SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CONNECTOR WARNING: Handling the component parts improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions and the appropriate service information before handling the air bag system components. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .) Switch the ignition off. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Disconnect the occupant classification sensor connector. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Is there any malfunction of the occupant classification sensor connector or passenger-side front seat connector?	Yes	Replace the malfunctioning part, then go to Step 4.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR Inspect the occupant classification sensor. (See CLOCK SPRING INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .) Is the voltage of each terminal normal?	Yes	CAN communication line can be considered the cause. Perform the malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure for multiplex communication system. (See FORWARD [SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) (See FORWARD [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .) Then go to the next step.
2		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness or connector, then go to the next step.
3	PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION Reconnect the disconnected connectors. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC (SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.)) .) Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION (SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.)) .) Are the same DTCs displayed?	Yes	Replace the occupant classification sensor. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Then go to the next step.
3		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
4	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED Clear DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC (SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.)) .) Verify DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION (SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.)) .) Are the same DTCs displayed?	Yes	Replace the SAS control module.
4		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
