Climate Control Unit Inspection: Notes

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the following parts:
1. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Hood release lever (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Fuel-filler lid opener lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Driver-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Driver-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
8. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
9. Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
10. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

Remove the climate control unit with the connector connected. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Connect the negative battery terminal.
Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to body ground.
Insert the positive (+) lead of the tester into each climate control unit terminal and measure the voltage according to the terminal voltage table.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under "Inspection item (s)".
  - If the parts under "Inspection item (s)" are found to be normal (except for terminal 1W), replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  - For terminal 1W, first try replacing the blower fan controller. (See BLOWER FAN CONTROLLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) If there is still malfunction, replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
