DTC B1B58:49 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM) and the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction or parking assist unit (ultrasonic) power supply malfunction displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (US)] .) (See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (US)] .)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY REAR BUMPER EXTERNAL APPEARANCE AND INSTALLATION CONDITION Verify the external appearance and installation condition of the applicable part. (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .) Are the external appearance and the installation condition normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, or install the applicable part correctly and perform the repair completion verification. (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
3	INSPECT PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) (TERMINAL 1A-1Z) CONNECTOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable connector and terminal. (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Are the connector and terminal normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
4	INSPECT REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable connector and terminal. (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Are the connector and terminal normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
5	INSPECT POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE FROM PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) Connect the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) (terminal 1A-1Z) connector. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .) Measure the voltage at each rear ultrasonic sensor terminal C (vehicle wiring harness side). Is all the voltage normal? (See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) INSPECTION .)	Yes	Go to Step 8.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND Inspect the applicable circuit for a short to ground. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
6		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
7	INSPECT REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT Inspect the applicable circuit for open circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
7		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
8	INSPECT REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Connect the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) (terminal 1A-1R) connector. Perform the following procedure for each rear ultrasonic sensor. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .) If there is a connected rear ultrasonic sensor connector, disconnect it. Connect any one of the rear ultrasonic sensor connectors. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .) Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .) Verify if the same DTC is displayed. Is the same Pending DTC present for all the sensors?	Yes	NOTE: If DTC B1B57:49 has been completed, go to the next step. Front ultrasonic sensor can be considered the cause. Repair the malfunctioning location according to the DTC B1B57:49 troubleshooting. (See DTC B1B57:49 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE] .)
8		No	Repair or replace the sensor connected when the DTC is displayed, and perform the repair completion verification. (See REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
9	INSPECT PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(US)] .) If the CAN communication is normal, replace the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) and perform the repair completion verification. (See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
9		No	Perform the [ACTION FOR NONREPEATABLE MALFUNCTIONS]. (See TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE [(US)] .) If DTC is displayed Repeat the diagnosis from Step 1. If DTC is not displayed Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(US)] .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
Repair completion verification 1		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
Repair completion verification 2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
