DTC B1495:87 [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY THAT FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT HAS NOT BEEN REMOVED Verify the foot-motion detection unit installation condition. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Is the installation condition normal?	Yes	Go to Step 3.
1		No	If there is an accessory installed near the foot-motion detection unit installation area: Go to Step 2. If there is no accessory installed near the foot-motion detection unit installation area: After installing the foot-motion detection unit correctly, go to Step 5. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2	VERIFY HANDS-FREE LIFTGATE SETTING Verify the hands-free liftgate function settings on the center display screen. (See CENTER DISPLAY PERSONALIZATION FEATURES SETTING PROCEDURE .) Is the hands-free liftgate function off?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Turn the hands-free liftgate function off, then go to Step 5.
3	VERIFY POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE DTCs AGAIN Clear the DTC for the foot-motion detection unit using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 s or more. Retrieve the foot-motion detection unit DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Inspect the LIN communication line. If there is any malfunction: Refer to appropriate wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between power liftgate (PLG) control module terminal 1C and foot-motion detection unit terminal 1C. If there is a common connector: Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a malfunction. Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: Repair or replace the wiring harness. Go to Step 5. If there is no malfunction: Go to the next step.
3		No	Go to Step 6.
4	INSPECT FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY Clear the DTC for the foot-motion detection unit using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 s or more. Retrieve the foot-motion detection unit DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Replace the foot-motion detection unit, then go to the next step. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4		No	Go to Step 6.
5	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED Clear the DTC for the foot-motion detection unit using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 s or more. Retrieve the foot-motion detection unit DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the power liftgate (PLG) control module. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Go to the next step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE] .)
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
