Diagnostic Procedure

DTC U2300:56 (AUDIO CONTROL UNIT (ACU)) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 INSPECT BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) AND AUDIO CONTROL UNIT (ACU) FOR MALFUNCTION 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM) and the audio control unit (ACU). (Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Are any of the following DTCs displayed?
    • Code related to body control module (BCM) communication error, internal malfunction
    • Code related to internal malfunction of audio control unit (ACU)
Yes Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(Refer to the [DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)] ] in the appropriate service information) (See DTC TABLE [AUDIO CONTROL UNIT (ACU)] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 VERIFY REPLACEMENT RECORD OF AUDIO CONTROL UNIT (ACU) 
  • Verify if the audio control unit (ACU) has been replaced before performing this troubleshooting procedure.
  • Has the audio control unit (ACU) been replaced?
Yes After implementing the required servicing according to procedure when replacing a module, perform the repair completion verification. (Refer to the [AUDIO CONTROL UNIT (ACU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in the appropriate service information)
No Go to the next step.
3 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION ERROR 
  • Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (Refer to the [CLEARING DTC ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the audio control unit (ACU). (Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to repair completion verification 2.
4 VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION RELATED DTCs 
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (Refer to the [CLEARING DTC ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Is a configuration related DTC displayed?
Yes Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (Refer to the [DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)] ] in the appropriate service information)
No Go to the next step.
5 RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) 
  • Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration. (Refer to the [CONFIGURATION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (Refer to the [CLEARING DTC ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the audio control unit (ACU). (Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Replace the audio control unit (ACU) and perform the repair completion verification.
(Refer to the [AUDIO CONTROL UNIT (ACU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ] in the appropriate service information)
No Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (Refer to the [CLEARING DTC ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the audio control unit (ACU). (Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(Refer to the [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW ] in the appropriate service information)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED 
  • Perform the DTC inspection. (Refer to the [DTC INSPECTION ] in the appropriate service information)
  • Is a DTC displayed?
Yes Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
