DTC U2142:00 (MAZDA EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE CONTROL MODULE) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Communication error with microphone
Detection condition	The Mazda EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE control module detects any of the following conditions. The Mazda EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE control module could not receive any signal from the microphone. The Mazda EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE control module received error signal for a continuous 2 times from the microphone.
Fail-safe	Not applicable
Possible cause	Microphone connector or terminal malfunction Mazda EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE control module connector or terminal malfunction Short to ground in microphone mode signal circuit Open circuit in microphone mode signal circuit Short to power supply in microphone mode signal circuit Microphone malfunction Mazda EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE control module malfunction
