DTC U0428-68: Error Signal Received From Steering Angle Sensor

U0428-68: (VCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Error signal received from steering angle sensor
Detection condition	The vehicle control module (VCM) receives an error signal from the steering angle sensor. The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that a difference between the angle signal received from the steering angle sensor and the angle signal received from the electric power steering (EPS) control module is standard or more.
Fail-safe	(See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
Possible cause	Internal malfunction related DTCs are stored in the following modules. Vehicle control module (VCM) (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .) Body control module (BCM) (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .) Steering angle sensor related DTCs are stored in the body control module (BCM). (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .) DTCs are stored in the electric power steering (EPS) control module. (See DTC TABLE [EPS] .) Steering angle sensor malfunction (Refer to CLOCK SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA/ISRAEL SPEC.] in service information.) Electric power steering (EPS) control module malfunction (Refer to STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM)) (Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure	Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
