DTC B14F3-87: Communication Error Between Vehicle Control Module (VCM) And Driver Monitoring Camera Unit

B14F3: 87 (VCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Communication error between vehicle control module (VCM) and driver monitoring camera unit
Detection condition
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the driver monitoring camera unit received a communication error with the vehicle control module (VCM).
Fail-safe (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
Possible cause
  1. Internal malfunction related DTCs are stored in the following modules.
  2. DTCs other than B14F3: 87 are stored in the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
  3. Driver monitoring camera unit malfunction (Refer to applicable DRIVER MONITORING CAMERA UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
  4. Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM)) (Refer to applicable BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
