DTC U0416-29: Error Signal Received From DSC HU/Cm [Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) Control Module (Us)]

U0416: 29 (ALH/AFS/ALV) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Error signal received from electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM
Detection condition
  • The auto leveling control module/adaptive front lighting system (AFS) control module/adaptive LED headlights control module received error signal from the electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM.
Fail-safe
  • The headlight leveling actuator is stopped at the position when the malfunction is determined.
  • Perform the following controls with the adaptive LED headlights turned on. (with adaptive LED headlights)
    • Turn off glare-free high beam.
    • Set wide-range low beam as basic light distribution.
Possible cause
  1. DTCs are stored in the electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM. (See DTC TABLE [DSC] .)
  2. Electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM malfunction (Refer to applicable DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
  3. Auto leveling control module/adaptive front lighting system (AFS) control module/adaptive LED headlights control module malfunction (Refer to applicable ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
