Remove Body Control Module (BCM): Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Mazda CX-90. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
- Prepare 2 remote transmitters because key programming will be necessary after replacing the body control module (BCM).
- Depending on the vehicle conditions, it may not be possible to transfer the BCM data before the replacement. If configuration is performed using the data at the time of shipment from the manufacturer (As-Built data), vehicle information initialization is required because the set values of the BCM are no longer consistent with the set values of the other parts. If the BCM data cannot be transferred, the vehicle information is erased. Before replacing the BCM, explain to the customer that vehicle information resetting is required.
- If configuration using As-Built data is performed, use the following procedure to initialize the settings.
- Switch the main power ON (READY off or on).
- Select [Settings] from the home screen of the center display.
- On the [Settings] screen, select [System Settings].
- On the [System] screen, select [Initialize].
- The body control module (BCM) is integrated with the following part.
- Vehicle control module (VCM)
- Remove using the procedure shown in the figure below.
