Instructions For Avoiding Damage To Ignition System

  1. Control unit connectors may only be unplugged or plugged in when ignition is switched off to avoid damage to EZL/AKR control unit.
  2. Terminals No. 1 and 15 of ignition coil must not be short-circuited to ground (anti-theft).
  3. The threaded pins of the ignition coil have different diameters (5 mm and 6 mm) to eliminate risk of connecting to wrong polarity.
  4. Resistance at high voltage side of ignition system must be at least 2 k/ohm (rotor one k/ohm, distributor cap per terminal one k/ohm) to avoid damage to EZL/AKR control unit. DO NOT  install 5 k/ohm distributor rotor(s) for interference suppression.
  5. EZL/AKR control unit is coated on its rear with heat conducting paste to improve heat dissipation and covered with a heat conducting protective film. The protective film must not be removed.
