Function 

The engine control module performs the authentication check analog to the drive authorization stage 2 (DAS 2).

After "circuit 15 is switched ON", the engine control module sends a request to the electronic ignition/starter switch via the CAN data bus.

This calculates a result based on this request. This calculation is accomplished in parallel in the engine control module in which the two results are compared. When they coincide, the engine control module enables the starting operation, simultaneously the result is sent to the electronic ignition/starter switch.
