Test 13: Activation Of Sun Roof Relay By Combination Control Module (Close Function)

  1. Using Adapter (140 589 12 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to combination control module. See Figure. With ignition switch in OFF position and sun roof fully open. Press and hold sun roof switch to CLOSE position, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 56 at breakout box while sun roof is closing. Battery voltage should exist while sun roof is closing. If voltage is not as specified, check for power to combination control module. See TEST 12: ACTIVATION OF COMBINATION CONTROL MODULE BY SUN ROOF SWITCH (CLOSE FUNCTION) . If TEST 12 is okay, go to next step.
  2. Ensure ignition switch is OFF. Disconnect connector "A" from combination control module. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminals No. 44 and 56 at breakout box. Sun roof should close. If sun roof does not close or fuse blows, check wiring, sun roof relays and sun roof motor. Repair or replace as necessary.
