Test 40: Activation Of Combination Control Module From Remote Central Locking (RCL) Control Module

  1. Using Adapter (140 589 12 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to combination control module. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Using Infrared Remote (IR) transmitter, press and hold LOCK button. Measure voltage between terminals No. 57 and 75 at breakout box. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  5.
  2. Measure voltage between terminals No. 57 and 75 at breakout box with left front door lock and trunk lid lock in rest position. If less than one volt exists go to next step. If more than one volt exists go to step  9.
  3. Measure voltage between terminals No. 57 and 75 at breakout box with ignition key in left front door lock turned and held in LOCK position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  9.
  4. Measure voltage between terminals No. 57 and 75 at breakout box with ignition key in trunk lid lock turned and held in LOCK position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  9.
  5. Using IR transmitter, press and hold UNLOCK button. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 57 at breakout box. If 4-6 volts exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  9.
  6. Measure voltage between ground terminal No. 57 at breakout box with left front door lock and trunk lid lock in rest position. If battery voltage exists go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist go to step  9.
  7. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 57 at breakout box with ignition key in left front door lock turned and held in UNLOCK position. If 4-6 volts exists, go to next step. If 4-6 volts does not exist, go to step  9.
  8. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 57 at breakout box with ignition key in trunk lid lock turned and held in UNLOCK position. If 4-6 volts exists, go to next step. If 4-6 volts does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Disconnect RCL control module connector No. 1. Disconnect combination control module connector "A". Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 57 at breakout box. 20,000 ohms should exist. If resistance is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay, repair keyless entry system.
