Infrared drive authorization system control module, purpose - GF80.30-P-4003-01A

FBS 2a 

The DAS infrared control module performs the following functions:

  1. a) Infrared remote central locking 
    • Reading and evaluating transponder signal

    After recognition of valid IR signal 

    • Actuation of
      • Central locking (CL)
      • Anti-theft alarm (ATA)
      • Convenience feature (CF)
      • Confirmation on interior rearview mirror, models 129/140/202/210 or top of roof frame, model 170
      • Confirmation via turn signals (models 170/202/210 via additional relay)
      • Reading in and evaluating the mechanical lock switches (SN1-unlock, SN2-lock), (only USA ONLYJAPAN ONLY ).
  2. b) Drive authorization system stage 2a (DAS2a) 
    • Actuation of transponder coil on ignition/starter switch
    • Release of engine control module via CAN with valid transponder
    • Receipt and evaluation of infrared remote control signal code

    The DAS infrared control module (N54/1) evaluates the transponder data transferred and, if valid, releases the engine control via the CAN data bus.
