Purpose of drive authorization system (DAS) infrared control module - GF80.30-P-4003-01B

The purpose of the IR DAS control module is described below:

  1. a) Infrared remote control for central locking 
    • Receive and evaluate signals from lock switches 1 and 2 from infrared remote control (RCL) module, not model 129

    After recognition of valid IR Signal 

    • Actuation of
      • Central locking (CL), not model 129
      • Anti-theft alarm (ATA), not model 129
      • Convenience feature (CF), not model 129
      • Remote trunk release (RTR), only models 140 and 202/210 sedan
    • Read in and evaluate signals from mechanical lock switches (SN1-unlock, SN2-lock), not model 129.
  2. b) Drive authorization stage X 
    • Control of transponder coil on ignition/starter switch
    • Read in and evaluate transponder signal
    • Release engine control module via CAN when transponder code is valid

    The IR DAS control module (N54/1) evaluates the transponder data received and, when valid, releases the engine control via the CAN bus.
