Remote control key with transponder, purpose/design/function - GF80.30-P-4001A

MODEL 129, 140, 210 (except, 210.072) as of 1.6.96, 210 / (except 210.2 /081) as of 1.6.96 up to 28.2.97 

MODEL 170, 210.072 /2 (except, 210.281) up to 28.2.97 

MODEL 202 (except 202.083) as of 1.8.96 up to 31.5.97 

MODEL 202.083 up to 31.5.97 

  Purpose Locking and unlocking vehicle via central locking.
Releasing drive authorization system.
 
  Design The IR remote control key contains a transponder for the drive authorization system, batteries for supplying power to the IR remote control as well as a mechanical key.  
  Function When the remote control button is pressed an infrared light beam is transmitted from the IR remote control key with transponder to the infrared remote control (RCL) receiver (interior rearview mirror) (A26/7) at which the key is pointed on models 129/140/202/210 or at the RCL receiver (roof frame) (A26/9) on model 170.
USA ONLY only
The left front door IR receiver (A26/1), right front door IR receiver (A26/2), trunk lid IR receiver (A26/3) are actuated on models 129/140 or the RCL receiver (interior rearview mirror) (A26/7) on models 202/210.
This IR signal transfers the code stored in the IR remote control key. This code changes each time the key is actuated.
