Functions of the power window switch

The five respective mechanical positions of the left rear power window switch (N72s3)  and right rear power window switch (N72s4)  are input by the lower control panel control module (N72)  , the positions of the left front power window switch, front center console (S21/1)  and left front power window switch, front center console (S21/1)  are input by the roll bar (RB)/soft-top operation control module (N52)  .

The switches are voltage-coded - the electrical resistance of the switches assumes different values, corresponding to the position of the switch contact.

second upper detent → automatic window raising (not activated)

first upper detent → manual window raising

center position → neutral

first lower detent → manual window lowering

second lower detent → automatic window lowering

Provided the function prerequisites

are satisfied, the lower control panel control module (N72)  sends a CAN message with the switch positions of switches N72s3  and N72s4  to N52  . With continuous switch actuation, the CAN message is transmitted for a maximum of 25 sec.

Equally, the N52 sends a CAN message with the switch positions of switches S21/1  and S21/2  to the relevant door control modules.

IMPORTANT

The rear power windows are actuated directly by the roll bar (RB)/soft-top operation control module (N52)  .
