  Coolant temperature sensor task To measure the coolant temperature and supply the corresponding signals to the IFI [ERE] control module (N3/7) or the DFI [EVE] control module (N3/8) and (from 12/94) to the instrument cluster  
  Coolant temperature sensor design To 11/94 GF07.04-P-5026-01HA

  Coolant temperature sensor function The NTC resistor integrated in the coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) alters its electrical resistance in line with the coolant temperature. NTC means negative temperature coefficient, in other words electrical resistance decreases as temperature increases
