Entry to EIS Variant Coding Intermittently Not Possible

SERVICE INFORMATION

It may be intermittently not possible to access the variant coding function in EIS for Models C215 and W/V 220 with EIS part numbers 215 545 04 08 and 215 545 05 08.

In order to access coding if this occurs, use R230 SL500 pathway in SDS to enter the vehicle diagnostic.

Once EIS is reached, go to:

Control Unit Adaptations
Read version coding and change if necessary
Series and engine version

For S430, S500, S55, CL500 and CL55: Select coding 113.963 for correct engine coding to be programmed.

For S600 and CL600: The required coding variant (137.970) is not shown in the list. However, by selecting coding *** (the one below 275.951), the correct engine coding for S600 and CL600 will be programmed.
