Possible Causes

NOTE: Manufacturer does not provide testing procedures for this fault.
NOTE: Vehicle is equipped with 2 ME-SFI control modules, right cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/12) and left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11). Both ME-SFI control modules are located next to each other in right rear corner of engine compartment. Right cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/12) is located nearest to passenger fender. Left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11) is located farthest from passenger fender.

Engine may have an increased tendency to knock from poor fuel, combustion chamber coking or engine mechanical damage. Inspect and repair as necessary. If no problems were identified, possible cause of code is defective left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11). Repair as necessary.
