Catalyst Warm-Up

Ignition timing is continuously retarded for approximately 20 seconds to rapidly heat-up catalytic converter and idle speed is increased slightly. This occurs if engine coolant temperature is more than 59°F (15°C) and less than 104°F (40°C) with gear selector in Park or Neutral.
