- Fault Memory & Actuation Of MIL - MIL is turned on after 2 consecutive driving cycles with fault.
- Frequency Of Testing - Continuous.
- Checked Signal Or Status - Coefficient of friction of converter lock-up clutch.
- Test Conditions - When torque converter lockup clutch is engaged, the friction coefficient is calculated by rotational speed comparisons. If these comparisons are outside a tolerance a number of times, a fault is detected.
NOTE:
Faults are recognized by the Electronic Transmission Control (ETC) module and sent to the ME-SFI control module via the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus. The ME-SFI control module carries out fault memory and actuation of Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). Also read out ETC fault memory, fault code 53.
