Check Caster At Front & Rear Axle: Notes
NOTE:
This test procedure is only carried out in the event of repair following an accident. Based on the axle location of the front axle and the severe axle load deviations of the rear axle, the castor angle varies resulting in different values depending on the vehicle model (vehicle equipment) and load condition - in dependence of the spring travel. If necessary the caster set value for individual vehicle has therefore to be determined using a nomogram. A deviation from the actual caster angle measured on the vehicle (actual value) from the set value determined in the nomogram of 40' is permissible, wherein the difference between the left and right side is not to be greater than 30' It is not possible to adjust the caster angle on the vehicle. The construction-related caster angle is only altered through bent trailing arm and twisted axle tube.
NOTE:
Vehicle manufacturer does not provide procedure for "caster" adjustments.

During procedures number(s) and letter(s) in parentheses correspond to number(s) and letter(s) inside the illustration(s). The word arrow(s) in parentheses is used to point out specific components or movement.
