The radio frequency/infrared remote central locking (RFL/RCL) has been enlarged compared to the infrared remote central locking (RCL) by a radio frequency operating unit and reduced to 2 IR exterior receivers (models 129/140)  . The radio frequency signal permits a greater range of operation of the remote control.

Models 129/140:

When the transmitter key of the radio frequency/infrared remote central locking is operated, an infrared signal is transmitted parallel to the radio frequency signal. If the DAS radio frequency/infrared control module recognizes the radio frequency or infrared signal as valid, it actuates the pneumatic system equipment (PSE). The vehicle is locked or unlocked through the central locking system. The infrared signal ensures operation of the central locking system in the event of a fault in the radio frequency signal. At the same time, the infrared signal controls the convenience closing and opening function.

Model 170:

When the radio frequency/remote control transmitter key is operated, only a radio frequency signal is transmitted. If the DAS radio frequency control module recognizes the radio frequency signal as valid, it actuates the pneumatic system equipment (PSE) through the multifunction control module. The vehicle is locked or unlocked through the central locking system.

"KEY-IN" interrogation:

If the transmitter key remains in the ignition/starter switch (S2/1) in position "0" or "1" after "Ignition OFF", the radio frequency/ infrared remote control is not operational for a time of T ≤ 30 min.
