Control Unit For Electronic Selector Lever Module, Task (As Of 4/24/04)
The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) receives digital and analog input signals, converts theses and actuates various components or transmits information to various control units via the controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C).
The selector lever position and touch shifts carried out are detected in a non-contact manner by means of optoelectronic switches. A photoelectric barrier is closed or interrupted each time the position of the selector lever is changed.
Input signals:
- Transmission Mode Switch (S16/5)
- Voltage Supply (Circuit 87)
Via CAN-C there is connection to:
- Instrument Cluster (A1)
- ME-SFI Control Unit (N3/10) or CDI Control Unit (N3/9)
- ETC Control Unit (N15/3)
- ESP & BAS Control Unit (N47-5).
- EIS [EZS] Control Unit (N73).
ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3):
- Selector Lever Position
- Transmission Mode Switch (S16/5)
- R/P-Restraining Magnet Energized
- Kickdown
Electronic ignition switch control unit (N73):
- Selector lever position for actuation of backup lamp.
The following information is received:
ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5):
- Wheel speed and right rear direction of rotation.
- Wheel speed and left rear direction of rotation.
- Set braking torque.
- Brake pedal depressed.
Electronic ignition switch control unit (N73):
- Circuit 50 Engine Start Switch (Circuit 50)
- Circuit 15 Voltage Supply Switched UB (Battery Voltage) (Circuit 15)
- Stop Lamp Feedback
- Message From Drive Authorization System (DAS)
The following information is transmitted.
Instrument cluster (A1):
- Engage Drive Mode
- Transmission Mode Switch (S16/5)
- Selector Lever Position
Motor electronics control unit (N3/10) or CDI control unit (N3/9):
- Selector Lever Position
