ETC Control Unit, Task (Except Code (428a) Steering Wheel Switch Buttons)

The ETC control unit (N15/3) measures the current operating state of the vehicle and controls all shifting operations taking the ease of shifting and driving situation into consideration.

It receives input signals as operating data from:

In addition there is a connection to the following via the Controller Area Network bus Class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C):

The ETC [EGS] control unit takes over the actuation of the solenoid valves for modulating and shift pressure and for shifting gears (N15/3).

The necessary pressure in relation to the torque to be transmitted, is computed from all the input signals.

The following information from other systems is processed in so doing.

Motor Electronics Control Unit (N3/10) Or CDI Control Unit (N3/9) 

Electronic Ignition Switch Control Unit (N73) 

N15/5 Electronic Selector Lever Control Unit
