Steering Wheel Gear Shifter, Function (722.6 In Model 203, 209, 211 With Code (428A) Steering Wheel Shift Buttons

The left steering wheel gear shifter (S110/2) and right steering wheel gear shifter PLUS (S111/2) are read in via the local interconnect network (LIN) by the steering column module (N80). The steering column module (N80) places the signal "upshift" or "shift down" on the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C). The ETC (EGS) control unit N15/3) receives the signal and triggers the shifting gears

NOTE: Shifts at unacceptably high or low engine speed are not carried out.
