Lock

Switches unlocking from selective to global or vice versa: 

Panic alarm  (with code (763) radio remote control with panic switch)

Remote trunk opening  (not model 211.2) or 

Remote trunk opening and closing  (only model 211.0 with code (881b) remote trunk closing (RTC) or 

Rear-end door remote actuation  (only model 211.2 with code (890) automatic rear-end door closing)

Drive authorization 

When the transmitter key is inserted (A8/1) into the keyhole in the EIS control unit, the key is supplied with voltage via an induction coil. Data is exchanged via the infrared transmission and receiving unit for the purpose of verifying drive authorization.

Lock/unlock vehicle doors, trunk lid, tailgate 

By pressing the buttons (1, 2, 3) a two-way radio and an infrared signal is transmitted by the transmitter key (A8/1).This signal is checked for validity and the vehicles doors, the trunk lid (not model 211.2) or the rear-end door (only model 211.2) are locked or unlocked.

Convenience feature 

The signals for convenience actuation are only transmitted via infrared, not via radio.

Panic alarm  (with code (763) radio remote control with panic switch) By pressing the button (6) for 1 second, the panic alarm is started, by repeating actuation of the button (6) or by plugging the transmitter key (A8/1) into the transmitter key opening, the panic alarm is interrupted at the EIS control unit.

Mechanical key 

The mechanical key (7) can be removed from the transmitter key (A8/1) by pressing the release button (5). When the vehicle is locked or unlocked with the mechanical key (7) the central locking is not actuated. The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) (with code (551a) anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is not deactivated.

Battery check 

When buttons (1, 2, 3) are actuated the battery indicator lamp (4) comes on and indicates the proper state of the batteries (two button cells) in the transmitter key (A8/1).

Only with code (889) Keyless Go 

The transmitter key (A8/1) is requested to transmit the authorization code via inductive antennas.

The transmitter key (A8/1) used last is always requested first.

The transmitter key (A8/1) calculates the drive authorization code to start the vehicle.

The transmitter key (A8/1) transmits its code received by the rear module keyless go control unit via radio.
