Tasks of rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is connected to the interior CAN and has several tasks. They are as follows:
- Reading in of sensors
- Reading in of switches
- Reading in of sensors
- Reading in of signals
- Control of actuators
- Output of request and status signals
- Fused power supply (terminal 30) of control units
- Evaluation and processing of read-in measured quantities
It also provides the slots for the fuses and relays of the discretely connected control units and relays.
Reading in of sensors
The following sensors are read in via CAN-B:
- Interior protection sensor (N70/2b1) with code 882 (Interior monitoring (with ATA [EDW] only)) and code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof)
- Interior protection sensor (E15/3b2) with code 882 (Interior monitoring (with ATA [EDW] only)), except code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof)
- Battery sensor (B95) as of code 807 Model year 2007
Reading switches
The following switches are read in via CAN-B:
- Rotary light switch (S1)
- Combination switch (S4)
- Backup light switch (S16/2) with manual transmission
- Electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) with automatic transmission
- Heated rear window button on AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) or Comfort-AAC (N22/7)
- Rear roller blind switch (N72/1s9)
The following switches are read in directly:
- Left front door contact switch (S17/3), right front door contact switch (S17/4), left rear door contact switch (S17/5) and right rear door contact switch (S17/6)
- Trunk lid lock switch (S88/2)
- Lock pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4)
- Trunk lid contact switch (S88/6)
- Trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8)
- ATA [EDW] hood switch (S62) with code 551 (Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]))
- Left rear seat release switch (S132/1) and right rear seat release switch (S132/2)
- Left rear backrest angle switch (S54/5) and right rear backrest angle switch (S54/6)
- Trunk lid emergency release switch (S88/10)
The following switches are read in via CAN-B and directly:
- Transmitter key (A8/1)
- Stop light switch (S9/1)
Reading in of sensors
The following sensors are read in directly:
- ATA [EDW] inclination sensor (B33) with code 551 Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW])
- Fuel level sensor, left tank half (B4/1) and right tank half (B4/2)
Reading in of signals
The following signals are read in via CAN-B:
- Request signal for locking/unlocking via CAN-B
- Crash signal
- Request signal for turn signal, brake, parking, standing, fog and backup lights
- Trailer hitch socket (13-pin) (X58) with code 550 Trailer hitch
- Request signal for SVMCU flashing (only on special-purpose vehicles)
The following signals are read in directly:
- Panic alarm signal via left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)
Control of actuators
The following actuators are actuated directly:
- Outer left taillight, parking light, rear fog light (E3e2) and outer right taillight, parking light, rear fog light (E4e2)
- Inner left taillight, rear fog light (E3e5) and inner right taillight, rear fog light (E4e5)
- Left license plate lamp (E19/1) and right license plate lamp (E19/2)
- Left brake light (E3e4) and right brake light (E4e4)
- Inner left turn signal light (E3e7) and inner right turn signal light (E4e7)
- Center high-mounted brake lamp (E21)
- Left luggage compartment lamp (E18/5) and right luggage compartment lamp (E18/4)
- Trunk lid ambient lamp (E40)
- Heated rear window (R1)
- Left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)
- Alarm signal horn (H3) with code 551 Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW])
- Fuel filler flap CL [ZV] motor (M14/10)
- Rear roller blind motor (M24) with code 540 Electric rear window roller blind
- Fuel pump (M3)
- Left rear head restraint motor (M53/1), center rear head restraint motor (M53/3) and right rear head restraint motor (M53/2)
The following actuators are actuated via CAN-B:
- Interior central locking and ATA [EDW] function display switch with code 551 Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW])
- Front dome lamp (N70e1)
Output of request and status signals
The following request and status signals are output via CAN-B:
- Output of panic alarm request
- Status of left front door contact switch (S17/3), right front door contact switch (S17/4), left rear door contact switch (S17/5) and right rear door contact switch (S17/6)
- "Close" or "open" request of central locking system
- Position of rear seat backrest
- Fill level of fuel tank
Fused power supply (tml. 30) of control units
The following control units receive a fused power supply via the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2):
- Radio (A2)
- HS [SIH] and seat ventilation control unit (N25/7) with code 401 Front comfort seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation or with code 872 Electrically heated left and right rear seats or with code 873 Right and left front seat heaters
- Trailer connection unit [AAG] control unit (N28/1) with code 550 Trailer hitch
- Overhead control panel control unit (N70)
- Driver front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) and front passenger front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/2) with code 275 Electrically adjustable driver seat, steering column and outside mirrors with memory
- TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) with code 475 Tire pressure monitor (Beru) up to and including code 805 Model year 2005
- TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) with code 475 Tire pressure monitor (Siemens) as of code 806 Model year 2006
